FOUNDER

Sonbol started his career in horse racing in 2005 when he built multiple racing outfits from the ground up. He quickly took outfits to the top of the earnings boards and won meet titles at major tracks like Saratoga and Del Mar. In 2008 he won for his client leading owner in North America by earnings.

Sonbol is responsible for putting together the program that produced the first Triple Crown Winner in 37 years; American Pharoah. Starting with multiple G1 winner Pioneerof The Nile who finished 2nd in the Kentucky Derby and went on to sire American Pharoah. Sonbol also purchased the dam of American Pharoah as a yearling and engineered the mating that produced him. In 2015 he brokered the breeding rights deal of American Pharoah between Zayat Stables and Ashford Stud.

Sonbol currently advises other clients such as Pick Six Racing whose one purchase was multiples graded stakes winner Vyjack who took his owner to the Kentucky Derby and the Breeders Cup.

Sonbol has been involved in the purchasing and breeding of 35 graded stakes winners that won 68 graded stake races including 9 G1 winners that won 24 G1 races.

Sonbol holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from UC Berkeley and is involved in other industries such as beverages, energy, and hospitality

Racing Stable Management

The heart and soul of the sport lies here; in Racing Stable management part of our program. We do not adhere to the cookie cutter solution, instead we model our solutions based on our clients needs and goals. Concurrently we still have many tools and expertise that are available across the board to all solutions regardless

Success & Experience : over 700 horses managed, 423 starters, of which 298 winners (70%) , won 645 races at 85 different racetrack across Northern American. 112 stakes wins, Over 50 million dollars in earnings, and a Triple Crown.

Data and Analytics: The utilization of systems, databases, and platforms that allow us to have a better grip on your program and gives the user the ability to get a birds eyes view or a detailed view of the program.

A Full Fledged Approach: We offer to take all the work off your hand and get it processed through us , from dealing with vendors, reviewing bills, accounting work, tax work, as well as managing the layups

Data and Analytics

Nile Bloodstock does not leave a stone unturned when it comes to managing sales, horses on the track or in the shed. As the world around us has been transformed by data and its technology is developing at an exponential pace we have been committed to keep up and bring some of these best practices to our portfolio.

Horse acquisition: We use data analytics for in depth analysis of our purchases whether it is through pedigree analysis or through video analytics with advanced imaging techniques for horses in training. As well as developing applications for clients to maintain and analyze all their historical sales data.

Breeding: Our approach to breeding has always been dependent on extensive historical research in to the crossing of certain bloodlines and trying to identify certain genetic traits that come with that. Our analytics allow us to go beyond the regular "nicking" data available in to identifying certain trends that go beyond just one generational cross.

Race Management: We have always taken a scientific approach to managing a racing stable because a horse is only as good as the program its in. This is why we implement Key Performance Indicators for horses as individuals and stables as a whole to try to identify areas of strength to capitalize on and areas of weakness to eliminate. In addition to that data and analytics help us to optimal manage a race horse's career through finding the right spots for them as well as opportunistic spots for them.
